I clip my birds wings 2 times a year. If some grow in between I just clip the long one off after the blood goes back into the birds body. Don't clip a feather that is dark in the center it is called a blood feather and will bleed. But if you have the vet or someone else clip them they will know what a blood feather is. Twice a year should do.

You can usually look at them and see If they are growing out. Also judge by the way they are able to fly if they are getting more flight ability it is likely time.
3 to 4 months sounds right though.
You do know that even with trimmed wings if they get outside they can still catch enough of a breeze to lift off and fly the coop right?
So please be careful Always have her in a carry cage when going out and always keep her away from a door that opens to outside.
I think caging a bird is cruel, and clipping their wings
Every Time it molts.
birds are always preening themselves and can lose their old feathers quickly. you should learn how to clip your birds wings and to know when to do them by the new growth of feathers known as blood feathers. be sure not to cut one of those either or your bird could bleed to death. your vet will be able to show you how to do all of this.
about every 3 to 4 months. You should learn how to clip them yourselves becuase it will make things easier! Just make sure you cut the right wings and don't cut any blood feathers...
