You only get electrocuted if you connect to the ground in some way or touch 2 different wires at the same time. Birds don't.
When a bird does this he is in contact with one wire only,be it positive or neutral.You have to complete a circuit by grounding for electricity to flow...George
first anwser is correct if u climb up and touch the top wire to the electicity pole and reach down touch the bottom one at the same time u might as well as tuck ur head between ur legs and kiss ur *** goodbye

because they balance on one single wire . which there are hundreds of wires and when two wires rub against each other . this is when the bird would electricute its self . however they are very good balances . however dont try this yourself because you will find that if a person tryed this they just would not be able to balcne on one wire . as one wire wouldnt hold a humans weight .
