Can Zebra Finches lay eggs without mating first?

I had a pair (male and female)..but the male died about 2 or more weeks ago..and the female started laying eggs last week.so I'm just wondering if the eggs are going to be infertile...or if there's a chance they actually mated...
Answers:
Yes to both of your questions. The female don't need a male to lay eggs, but the eggs still could be fertile. Either way you don't want to remove the eggs. Allow her to have the eggs for 18 days anyway. After the 18 days, from the last one laid, then remove them and throw them away, if they did not hatch, and remove the nest.
Removing the nest will keep her from laying anymore eggs and depleting her calcium levels.
Good Luck!
The male proably mated before he died and it takes a couple weeks for the eggs to come.
yes but they wont hatch if the bird didnt mate
have you ever thought that maybe they mated before the male died?
