Check out the info on this website: http://interbug.com/pigeon/lost.html...
It explains what to do with a lost homing pigeon, including how to read the leg band, and who to contact in North America, United Kingdom, Europe or Asia when you find a lost homing pigeon.
It's best to just leave it alone. With luck, it will find it's way home. I've found many a lost homing pigeon as we have many fanciers in the area. I've called their owners each time, and each time they said they didn't want it back because homing pigeons that get lost are useless to them. With luck, the bird will survive on it's own in the wild if it doesn't make it back home by itself.
Open all doors %26 windows to let it come in.Yes because your door is always open.
Leave it alone..it will figure out that it is at the wrong place sooner or later
If you can, catch it, and wait till the winds die down. Early morning hours, walk out and in the northern end of your town, throw the bird up in the air and it will return back on it's track once again.
Most pigeon flyers are released north of where they are to fly. They then fly south to where they want to go home to.
Good Luck!
