10 zebra's, pair of white hooded nuns, and a bronze canary- natural food suggestions?

they are on a diet of finch/canary seed, parakeet seed, because they love it, and some supplemental seeds, like %26quot;molting and conditioning%26quot;, %26quot;garden blend%26quot;, fruit blend%26quot; as treats..
for fresh food i give them brocoli almost daily, and lettuce ocasionally.
they may get a plate of eggs, either hard boiled or scrambled maybe once a month, they really love it but i don't wamt to encourage any more breeding as i have too many as it is.
i was thinking of giving them rolled oats as a treat but then i got to thinking that if they drink water with it that it will expand in their tummies! which can't be good lol, your opinions?
also what other fruits or vegi's or oat type things can i give them?
occasionally i get them a little pot of wheatgrass which they also love..
thanks for your input!

I am only familiar with Zebra Finches, so this answer pertains to them. Finches are not strictly seed and water birds. For a healthy diet they require a source of protein, usually eggs, and daily fresh fruit and veg. The lettuce that you mentioned is a good vitamin source. Romaine is higher in nutrition than Iceberg, which is mostly water.
Cucumber, celery and apple slices are also good and they usually love them. They will pick at just about any sort fruit and vegi with a soft center. I give my birds fruit and veg every morning and eggs about once a week. I just beat the egg in a little dish and pop it in the microwave (covered) and in a minute or two it's ready.
It sounds like you're doing all the right things, but I'd suggest daily fruit and veg. As for breeding, I learned the hard way (after 13 babies) to keep anything that can be used as nesting material at least a mile away from their cage. My little stinkers picked the threads out of a nearby curtain for their love nest.
believe it or not my i put some crushed cornflakes in a cup also 8 n 1 sells egg biscuits which they love what about the millet sprays high in fat but love them
