A baby egg!?

I found an egg which was cracked a little bit. i told my mum and we tried to find a nest but we can't find one! How do i raise this egg ?? i live in australia. It is about half the size of a ping pong ball and really white! thnx

If the egg has been out of a nest for a while..it could very well have gotten too cold and died. If it was a lone egg with a crack, it was most likely taken from the nest by a predator and dropped. The fall to the ground and the crack could have also killed the egg. It is very difficult to incubate an egg, they need very specific temperatures and need to be turned periodically. Also..if did happen to be successful at hatching the egg..what would you do with the bird once it hatched..not knowing what kind of bird it was and how to care for or feed it?? Also, it is illegal for you to even have the egg in your possession, native birds are protected by law.
Try to keep it under a heat lamp. Though, make sure that the heat coming from the lamp, isn't too hot! Keep it in a box, but, put some twigs, leaves, grass, and weeds, and make it look like a nest! Put the egg in it! Wait to see if anything happens. If nothing happens in the next week, then, I am sorry, but, nothing seems to be in it.. but, if it cracks more, then, GREAT! It might not survive because it carcked but there is a possibility that it can live because it is only a little crack. Then search in google. It's really helpful to search for now.
Good Luck:)
Aaaaw, unfortunately there's no comfort like that of it's mother. You can build a nest for it and keep it warm. That's about all you can do. I had a similar situation but it ended up dying :( Good luck.
i am afraid there's no way that egg would ever survive. you don't know how long that egg have left alone.
a incubator, you can make one using a red heat light like they use in a resturant to keep food warm till it is served to people,
it might not be a birds egg if you go to the library and look up egg or animals or even on the Internet it could tell you what kind of egg it is and how to revise it. it might not even survive because you dont Know how long it has been there for.
Did u have birds??? If u found it outside bring it in and like get a heater...if one day it hatches go to this website:

or
www.birds.com
or
www.babyeggs.com
Good Luck! :)
well keep i tin a warm place that is always warm..
if its cracked it probably wont survive. the best thing to do is keep in an incubator set at bout 100 degrees ( give or take a few degrees). and then just wait till it hatches. half the size of a pingpong ball is really small. u sure its a bird egg?
