Once, I forgot to turn off the lights and there were my birdies at 4 in the morning playing around!! They had no problem getting up that day and playing until bed time...

That's not anything to do with them being hyber, they just had enough light from some place ( window or) to play %26 enjoy the newness.LOL
Many don't cover birds at night and many birds are kept in outside aviaries, they go to bed/sleep/roost right before darkness and wake at first light.
Covering our birds in the house is a good way to keep drafts from reaching them and also let's us sleep later-:))

They will chatter off and on as long as the lights are on. They will nap enough to make up for it.
They were when they were babies but not anymore... :/
My bird usually likes to talk and run around twittering anytime I enter the room or talk to him. He can be very hyper, sometimes even flapping his wings really fast, and bobbing his head like a maniac!
I wish. my birds are from 2 different world. the guy bird acts like he is high all the time, he just sits there and looks around or acts dumb.
The female one is bossy, hyper and has an attitude. They get along okay when they wanna play...but its rare that they're hyper :( only when theyre hungry.
yes i have only 1 female parakeet and she is hyper alot.When i get her a new toy in her cage she gets ho hyper and happy!!
