Change food every day? parakeet?

Wtf is the point they eat tons of bacteria in the wild do i really need to change it every day.
Answers:
My answer would be to throw out any uneaten food everyday. Though birds do get exposed to bacteria in the wild, and in our homes, everyday, in the wild, they don't eat from the same dish. This is where bacteria can build up to a threatening level. It really isn't much waste if you just feed your parakeet what you think it will eat in a day. If you are feeding pellets, then the risk of bacterial buildup is far less. If you are feeding treats of human foods, they should never be in the food dish for more than 1 to 3 hours, depending on the type of food. Fruit and other wet foods can start to deteroriate very quickly.
For seeds, you should only be feeding enough for a day. This is an excellant way to gauge how much your little bird is eating.
Best of luck, and hope you and your little parakeet have a long and healthy life.

Guess what, your bird isn't in the wild.
I'm sure you'd love to have the same, old, unfresh, nasty food every day.
they need to have their cages, dishes and perches cleaned daily. if you want the bird to live a long and healthy life you need to take good care of them.
would you like to live like the cavemen of ages ago?? they did not live a long time and they were less than hygenic.
You change it so that it does not develope mold by sitting in the bowl. Mold can be very dangerous to birds , and to humans as well.
You also change it to prevent seed moths from laying eggs in the food , hatching and then filling your house with hundreds of tiny pesky insects.
And you change it to be sure that your pet stays healthy.
If you don't care about your bird, then maybe you should consider the fact that many bird diseases can be transmitted to humans!
So if you are so cold hearted that you would force your bird to eat old, stale, and possibly dangerous food, perhaps you will at least change it to keep yourself from developing bacterial infections, mold complications, and to keep your house free of nasty bugs!!
